Due to popular demand Tregaron Trotting Club will be inviting entries for two maiden races, one to be held on Friday and a second on the Saturday of the festival - a maximum of ten horses per race. Entries should be made preferably by e-mail to Ray@brenigins.freeserve.co.uk or by telephone to Ray Jenkins on 01974 272009 by 9.30am Sunday 21st August stating your preferred day should you have a preference. Postal entries will not be accepted due to the limited time scale. A public ballot will take place in Boughrood Races to decide the runners should there be in excess of 20 entries. . Read more.

BHRC INTEGRITY - TCO2

Recently a batch of integrity samples were tested for TCO2 levels. The results in the main show an average of 29mmol/L, with a couple of below average readings and also two that were relatively above average. In view of these results the BHRC will continue to monitor and test for TCO2. The horse Lifes A Beach who tested above the TCO2 threshold on 7th September 2009, and was subject to disqualification from the S4C Welsh Cup, was tested and has received an average reading and is now cleared to race. . MUSSELBURGH FAIR DAY RACES 2011

Musselburgh this year will be run on Thursday 4th and Friday 5th August. We will be returning to the tried and tested format of the Hurricane Pace Heats and Final on Thursday and The Famous Musselburgh Pace Heats and Final on Friday. The Three Year Old Grass Derby will be run on Thursday. There will be no Two Year Old or Four Year Old races, but Low Grade races will return. WARNING OFF - MR DAVID TAFF

As from 1st June 2011, Mr David Taff, is officially a Warned Off person. Mr Taff is Warned Off under section S42 of the BHRC Rules and Regulations due to non-payment of costs and fines: S42. Financial Responsibility - Any participant who shall demonstrate financial irresponsibility by accumulating unpaid obligations, defaulting in obligations, issuing one or more cheques that are dishonoured, or payment refused, may be denied a licence by the BHRC or may be suspended and/or fined and/or Warned Off on order by a Disciplinary Panel of the BHRC. . HARNESS RACING PROMOTERS MEETING - ONLINE TOTALISATOR GAMBLING

The BHRC are holding a meeting on Saturday 12th March 2011 at Hall Green Greyhound Stadium, Birmingham at 4pm to discuss the Online Totalisator Betting initiative. TOTALISATOR GAMBLING UPDATE . . .

The winter of 2010-11 has been an era ushering in the likelihood of change, within Harness Racing in Britain and Ireland. For decades we have put on good racing but every attempt to inject money into our sport has failed. Basically we race for our own money. Whilst Totalisator or Pari Mutuel betting is not new, the use of the internet to facilitate both on and off track gambling is relatively new. Greyhound, Thoroughbred and Harness Racing abroad, have not been slow to pick up on this opportunity. Now tested, the time might be right for us to try this venture. . Read more.

BHRC v TAFF - PANEL DECISION

Following a sample taken from Lifes A Beach (the horse) on 7th September 2009 a TCO2 reading of 39.2 millimoles per litre in blood plasma was found to exist. Pursuant to rules within Section Y of the BHRC Rules and Regulations the matter was considered at a series of hearings culminating in a hearing on 21st June 2010. . Read more.

The issue of Classic Races, principally the conditions, eligibility, funding and potential venues, has been the subject of much debate at the BHRC Committee Meetings for the last three months. S4C CHAMPIONS' NIGHT ENDS WITH FAIRYTALE FINISH

You couldn’t have written the script at the S4C Champions Night on Monday, 7 September at Tir Prince, Towyn when Irish driver Alan Richardson raced home the winner on Earned Income. It was a fairytale finish for the Irish driver. . Read more.

The BHRC is at present considering how we structure the manner by which infringements to our rules on drug testing are dealt with.
