** NOTICE – 28 DAY RULE **

RACE HORSES
Under section Q1 all horses entering to race have to be declared to the BHRC as in training for a minimum period of 28 days immediately prior to ENTRY – connections of any horses not registered for 28 days will be subject to a fine (minimum £20) and horse MAY not be permitted to race.

  • trainers MUST BE licensed to declare horses in their custody, care and training
  • race payments should be submitted at least 7 days prior to first entry to race

Q1. [ii] To be eligible to enter to race ALL horses must:
[g] be registered with the BHRC as in training for a minimum period of 28 days immediately prior to entry
Failure to comply with any of the above conditions will result in a fine and/or suspension and horse may not be permitted to race.

QUALIFIERS
Under section N5 all horses that are required to qualify have to be declared to the BHRC as in training for a minimum period of 28 days immediately prior to ENTRY – horses not registered for 28 days WILL NOT be permitted to qualify

N5. Supervision of Qualifying Trials
No horse may be eligible to be entered to compete in Qualifying Trials unless:
[b] the registered owner holds a current licence
[c] the trainer holds a current licence in the correct category and has been declared (in writing) to the BHRC as the registered trainer
[d] the horse has been registered with the BHRC as in training for a minimum period of 28 days immediately prior to entry
[e] a copy of the vaccination record has been supplied to the BHRC
