Ian Pimlott is the man for the big stage as we have seen in the past at Wolverhampton in the William Hill Pacing Championship, this time in the Fleet Hire Le Trot the veteran master steered home Thunder Jiel to take the honours at Chelmsford.
Salvado Bello looked to be travelling strongly for John Foy at the top of the straight but was run out of it by the wide challenging winner and runner up Ubu of Fairy.
After the race Pimlott said, “you can’t kick early as horses tire on this surface”
The winner was scoring for the first time this year in the U.K.

The top race saw Rhys Evans take one of the stars of the trotting season Tenor Meslois to the front early, however half a mile from home John Foy angled for a run with Sulky Du Blequin and soon the 2016 Champion kicked clear putting the race to bed by an easy 11 lengths.
The disappointment of the race was Irish challenger Twist Du Layon who could only manage 6th place having been stuck behind horses.
Foy was full of praise for his champion, reminding us that his 10 year old was very versatile when it cones to track surfaces and distances.
The winning driver is set to represent the UK in an International Drivers race at Vincennes in December.

Tonight’s races seem to be well received trackside so let’s hope the betting turnover figures were respectable.

Big thank you and congratulations must go to George Button, Trot Britain, Jack Dowie, Bill Green and the whole team for making tonight possible.
It was great to welcome Emmanuelle Morvillers, Marie Ann Schwartz, Marie-France Wissocq and Damien Beau of Le Trot to Chelmsford
Hopefully tonight’s success of class racing screened on ATR will be repeated
