Nominees

3 Year Old Eligible Horses 2022

For any horse to be eligible for the Sire Stakes Series:

  1. Stallion must be nominated in the year of covering for horse to be eligible for any and all races in the series.
  2. Stallions must be standing in the Great Britain during the year of nomination or available via frozen semen for deceased STAGBI registered stallions from British Owners.
  3. All horses must be fully registered prior to any nomination.
  4. All nomination and sustaining payments will only be accepted if received at the BHRC post-marked on or before the due date.
  5. All fees must be made for horses to remain eligible.
  6. The Owner and/or Trainer are responsible for eligibility. No refunds will be made for ineligible horses.
  7. All fees are non-refundable.
  8. All races conducted under BHRC Rules and Regulations.
  9. Colts and Fillies divisions will race separately.
  10. All races limited to track maximum.
  11. All races must be run at a hard track.
  12. All races must be run at a 1/2 mile track.
  13. Maximum ten horses to qualify for each Final.
  14. In the event there are no Heats, draw position for the straight Final to be determined by ballot.
  15. In the event of Heats, horses will ballot into each Heat (draw position in Heats also determined by this ballot).
  16. In the event of Heats, the fastest heat winners take choice of draw position for Final, the second fastest heat winner will get second chosie, and so on if more than 2 heats are stages.  The remainder of horses qualifying for Final are to be determined by their individual heat times.
  17. Where Heats are held prize money distribution – 40% to Heats, 60% to Final.
  18. Purse distribution in Heats – 60%-25%-15%.
  19. Purse distribution in Final – 50%-25%-12%-8%-5%.
  20. Horses must be declared to run and drivers must be notified to BHRC at least 14 days prior to first race date (drivers in accordance with section X37 of the BHRC Rules and Regulations).
  21. Horses must meet qualifying standards as laid out in section X9 of the BHRC Rules and Regulations
  22. In the event of only one horse declaring to start, or two horses under the same ownership, provisions will be made in accordance with section X32 of the BHRC Rules and Regulations.

Stallion Nomination – £250

Due by 1st April 2022 (Only stallions standing in Great Britain, or available via frozen semen if deceased are eligible).  Includes automatic nomination of all progeny from coverings in year of nomination (i.e. 2023 foals).

 

Yearling Sustaining – £50

Due by 1st April 2022

2YO Sustaining Fees

Sustaining Fee – £100

Due by 1st April 2022
(must be paid to remain eligible for any future Sire Stakes races)

Admission Fee – £50

Due two weeks before race 10th September 2022
(to be paid for horses declaring to race)

3YO Sustaining Fees

Sustaining Fee – £100

Due by 1st April 2022

 

Admission Fee – £50

Due 2 weeks before race 10th September 2022

Yearlings nominated after 1st April of Yearling Year

2YO Supplements

2yo Supplement fee after 1st April of 2yo year
Supplement Fee – £500
2YOs that have not paid a Yearling Sustaining or Supplement Fee can be nominated to the series (subject to eligibility)
Admission Fee in relevant year will also be due for horse to remain eligible to race in 2YO Sire Stakes races
Supplement Fee – £750
Must be paid by 1st August of 2YO Year 

3YO Supplements

After 2YO Sire stakes races have been staged until 31st March of 3YO year supplement fee £750
3YOs that have missed previous supplement payments or not paid any previous sustaining or supplement fees can be nominated to the series (subject to eligibility)
Admission Fee in the relevant year will also be due for horse to remain eligible to race in 3YO Sire Stakes races
Supplement Fee – £1,000
Must be paid by 1st August of 3YO year
