Nominees
Sire Stakes Conditions
For any horse to be eligible for the Sire Stakes Series:
- Stallion must be nominated in the year of covering for horse to be eligible for any and all races in the series.
- Stallions must be standing in the Great Britain or Ireland during the year of nomination or available via frozen semen for deceased STAGBI registered stallions from British and Irish Owners.
- All horses must be fully registered prior to any nomination.
- All nomination and sustaining payments will only be accepted if received at the BHRC post-marked on or before the due date.
- All nomination and sustaining fees must be made for horses to remain eligible.
- Race fees are only payable for horses intending to race that year.
- The Owner and/or Trainer are responsible for eligibility. No refunds will be made for ineligible horses.
- All fees are non-refundable.
- All races conducted under BHRC Rules and Regulations.
- Colts and Fillies divisions will race separately.
- All races limited to track maximum.
- All races must be run at a hard track.
- All races must be run at a 1/2 mile track.
- Maximum ten horses to qualify for each Final.
- In the event there are no Heats, draw position for the straight Final to be determined by ballot.
- In the event of Heats, horses will ballot into each Heat (draw position in Heats also determined by this ballot).
- In the event of Heats, the fastest heat winners take choice of draw position for Final, the second fastest heat winner will get second choice, and so on if more than 2 heats are stages. The remainder of horses qualifying for Final are to be determined by their individual heat times.
- Where Heats are held prize money distribution – 40% to Heats, 60% to Final.
- Purse distribution in Heats – 60%-25%-15%.
- Purse distribution in Final – 50%-25%-12%-8%-5%.
- Horses must be declared to run and drivers must be notified to BHRC at least 14 days prior to first race date (drivers in accordance with section X37 of the BHRC Rules and Regulations).
- Horses must meet qualifying standards as laid out in section X9 of the BHRC Rules and Regulations
- In the event of only one horse declaring to start, or two horses under the same ownership, provisions will be made in accordance with section X32 of the BHRC Rules and Regulations.

Stallion Nomination – £250
Due by 1st April 2024 (Only stallions standing in Great Britain and Ireland, or available via frozen semen if deceased are eligible). Includes automatic nomination of all progeny from coverings in year of nomination (i.e. 2025 foals).
If a stallion is nominated by 1st of April and serves 3 or less mares (as shown by covering certificates issued) they will be eligible for a refund of the nomination fee.

2YO Sustaining Fees
