NATIONAL RATINGS BASED HANDICAP SYSTEM

Following feedback regarding the framing of races, the handicap panel has met and made minor alterations to the working of point 10 & point 26 in order to give clarity to race framers and promoters.

POINT 10

One point equals one yard for handicapping purposes (UNLESS CLEARLY ADVERTISED IN ADVANCE)

POINT 26

RACE CLUBS AND PROMOTORS who wish to run a handicap race shall take the yardage bands from the bottom rated hoses entered in that individual race in increments of ten yards e.g. if using 10 points per 10 yards and the bottom horse entered in the race was 37 the yardage bands would be 37-46, 47-56, 57-66, 67-76 etc.
