OBITUARY – Joy Robson

10Apr

It is with great sadness that I am writing to inform you of the passing of Joy Robson, who lost her battle with Cancer on Sunday evening 1 April.

The funeral will be held on Monday 16th April at 11.30am at Coundon Crematorium, Bishop Auckland (DL14 8NR).
All welcome to attend. Family flowers only please – donations at Crematorium will be to a charity chosen by the family.

Joy had been involved with harness racing for many years, her family owned and bred some quality horses, the most notable being Toms The Man. Joy in her younger days was an exceptional rider of gallopers and won numerous races. Joy was known in the North of England for helping to organise race meetings, which included taking entries, declarations, raffles and washing number cloths along with her friend Mavis. Joy was a lovely lady who would help anyone if she could, she will be sadly missed by all those who knew her, first as a friend, second by the various race committees she was involved with.

With deepest sympathy to her family, RIP
