PORTMARNOCK INTER DOMINION HEAT PREVIEW

Tomorrow, Saturday, sees the second heat of the UK/Ireland Interdom series, this time at Portmarnock Raceway near Dublin.
A totally different affair this time over the mile trip (York was at 1½ miles and three weeks ago) and barrier draws will be vitally important – although in the six horse field, all should be close enough if good enough.
Meadowbranch DJ won by ten lengths at York and sharpened for this with his five length second from 50 behind here last week where the winner ran 1.57.5 from the front and he’s certainly the one to beat.
Brywinsmagicpotion was luckless when second at York and comes off brave parked out second to Stoneriggs Mystery at Tr Prince last week.
Meadowbranch Romeo wasn’t quite at his peak last time when third, but went well here last week when runner up from the 70 metre handicap.
Sepia Sands was luckless from a bad draw at York but after impressively winning heat and final at Aberstwyth since, he’ll be at the top of his game.
Saunders Mach 3 was the eyecatcher of the first heat when a brave fourth after racing wide for the last five furlongs – forget his subsequent failure on the grass at Aberystwyth.
Wellfield Official wasn’t flash at York but hasn’t been disgraced in two placings since.
My tips – Meadowbranch DJ to beat Brywinsmagicpotion and Sepia Sands.
