James and Richard Haythornthwaite did UK harness racing proud on Wednesday night at Geelong in Victoria, Australia with two polished drives.
James drove the 4-YO Three Strikes Back, a gelding who had shown nothing prior to this race, into an in touch 7th place in the opening pace.
The final race, a trot, saw Richard steer Eureka Encounter home into a fairly close third.
On Thursday the brothers will be in action at the big Yarra Valley Meeting.
Richard sits behind El Paco in the Group 3 Yarra Valley Trotters Cup at 4.27 am (GMT) and James will steer Maximum Jolt in a pace at 5.09 am GMT)
Both races are on Sky Racing Radio and replays will be free to view on the Australian Harness Racing Website.
Also on the card Lennytheshark faces the starter in the Group 3 Yarra Valley Pacing Cup (5.49 am GMT), as he preps for the Inter Dominion.
Richard is also set to drive at Bendigo on Friday, while James will be in action at Melton on Saturday.
Big thanks to Bill Hutchison for organising the drives, incidentally, Hutchy‘s trotter Breezin Around finished third at Geelong.
It was good to see photographers John and Johnny Grossick at Geelong, as they come to the end of their Melbourne Cup trip. The front page of Wednesday’s Racing Post was courtesy of them.
