STONERIGGS MYSTERY SUPREME

24Aug

Making light of his wide gate seven draw Stoneriggs Mystery was a runaway winner of his second Crock Of Gold at Tir Prince on Saturday night.
Speedster Meadowbranch Josh quickly found the lead as expected but was hammered by Ayr Regal and eventually took the trail. Mystery and Mick Lord were away swiftly and soon cruised to a spot outside the new leader, raced clear with a quarter to go and won by open lengths from Brywinsmagicpotion who made big ground from the rear, and an improved Sepia Sands who closed late after encountering traffic problems.
Rain during the day and evening slowed the surface (which raced extremely well) and 1:59 was the time for the race.
With wins and from five of his last six a narrow 1.55.2 defeat in Ireland, Stoneriggs Mystery has silenced any doubters (if there were any) and proved he’s the best horse we’ve seen in the UK for many a long year, if not, ever.
