Unfortunately we have not received sufficient entries to put on a competitive race card for Sunday 15th November we have therefore decided to draw the 2020 season to a conclusion and concentrate on 2021.

We are very proud of the fact that we have managed to extend the season into November and would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the people who have sponsored races, bought raffle tickets and kept horses in training in order to help the racing continue this long.

The 2020 season could be a watershed one for Tir Prince Raceway as we have ventured into the pay per view streaming market and very importantly had our racing taken by an overseas bookmaker on a bet to view basis on a regular basis.  We have also had off course betting in the UK and it is hope that in 2021 the racing will be available on a bet to view basis in the UK.  We have applied for 2 qualifying dates and 23 race dates in 2021 stretching from April until the end of November so watch this space for further details.

It should be remembered that in the spring of this year many people were calling for the season to be scrapped but we felt that it was important for the industry that is, the breeders trainers and the owners that as a minimum the big stakes races should go ahead after all a horse is only 2, 3 or 4 for one year of its life and that to scrap the season entirely would have decimated our already fragile sport and now that its over we can look back and say that we are very happy that we decided to go ahead.

The Autumn Series has been a resounding success we tried to give horses within the handicap system a chance to be competitive and feel that we achieved this with some of the best finishes to races ever seen at the track.

Tir Prince Raceway stood by the sport by agreeing to take a chance on racing behind closed doors and then consequently the sport stood by us when we needed horses and sponsorship for our Autumn Series, things are much easier in this sport when everyone works together.

Please be assured that we won’t be resting on our laurels and that plans are already afoot make the 2021 season very memorable so for now watch this space and stay safe.
